In the first quarter of 2025, the social networking landscape in Kenya saw intriguing trends among the top five iOS apps, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Threads exhibited a gradual increase in downloads, peaking at approximately 8.5K during the second week of March. Active users also climbed steadily, reaching about 80.4K by the end of the quarter.

Telegram Messenger maintained a steady revenue flow, averaging around $650 weekly. Downloads spiked to 6.5K in mid-March, while active users varied slightly, ending the quarter at approximately 288K.

WhatsApp Messenger saw consistent performance with weekly revenues hovering around $5-$9. Downloads were notably high at the start, around 6.7K, but declined to approximately 2K by the end of March. Active users, however, steadily increased, reaching nearly 2.8M.

The app 小红书 – 你的生活兴趣社区 experienced a significant download surge early in the quarter, hitting 25.9K. Despite a decline in downloads later, active users followed a similar pattern, peaking at 9.3K before tapering off.

Finally, Facebook showed stable revenue throughout the quarter, averaging around $500-$700 weekly. Downloads remained consistent, with a slight increase to 3K in January. Active users saw a gradual rise, reaching 245K by mid-March.
